Our Astronaut Leader

Jean-Loup Chrétien is the first Western European to venture into space. He has been a French Air Force Brigadier General, a Russian Cosmonautand a NASA Astronaut. He has launched twice on the Russian Soyuz vehicle and orbited the Earth aboard the Mir Space Station. Whilst a member of the crew, he became the first non-American and Non-Soviet person to carried out a Spacewalk.

He also served on the crew of NASA Space Shuttle Atlantis during Mission STS-86 which docked with the Mir Space Station. In total, he has spent over 43 days in space. He is also a former test pilot and is now a leading French Technologist. Jean-Loop has a love of music and adventure which includes recently hiking to the Everest base camp.
